Space for 5G
The fifth generation of cellular networks, also known as “5G”, is expected to bring new opportunities in several fields, ranging across telemedicine, remote education, smart cities and augmented reality. The European Space Agency Sentinel satellites of the Copernicus constellation will have a key role in providing internet coverage in areas where terrestrial networks are not deployed.
