ESA Space Transportation Pitch Week: 20 – 22 March 2024

Join the ESA Space Transportation Pitch Week: a series of on-line events exploring new technological concepts for space transportation

ESA’s Future Space Transportation team hit the ground running in 2024: their Future Launchers Preparatory Programme (FLPP) is at the forefront of the future of space transportation in Europe and launched call for ideas in four different areas covering:

  • Boosters: New system concepts for reusable launchers first stages or boosters
  • Engines: High-thrust staged combustion engines
  • Avionics & GNC: Avionics and guidance, navigation and control systems
  • Next In-Space Transportation Proof-of-Concepts: PoC-2 (in-orbit cryogenic propellant storage and in-orbit refilling) and PoC-3 (on-board & shared intelligence in space)

Shortlisted companies that submitted their proposals for those calls will pitch their ideas during this event, where you will be able to have an exclusive overview of the latest technological trends and key competencies in the sector. If you are a prime, you will also get an extensive look of competencies over the value chain and select the best companies to potentially embark in a consortium.

ESA’s Space Transportation Pitch Week takes its participants on a journey across future space logistics. On 20 March, ESA’s vision for future space transportation Proof-of-Concepts (PoC-2 – In-orbit refilling and PoC-3 – On-board and shared intelligence) will be presented alongside pitches from technology providers all along the value chain. This event will be hosted in coordination with the In-Space Transportation Club.

The innovative technologies that can be applied to all areas of space transportation – to, from and in space – will be highlighted on 21 March for the FIRST! Avionics & GNC Pitch Day. Finally, on 22 March, the proposals submitted to THRUST! & BEST! will highlight ways that we can secure Europe’s independent access to space through reusable engines and stages/boosters.

Proposals have been reviewed, and it’s time for the shortlisted companies to move on to round two: during the Pitch Week, technology providers and primes behind the shortlisted proposals will have the opportunity to showcase their proposals to ESA, industry experts and potential customers or collaborators.

To build the Space Team Europe community, participants are encouraged to attend other events throughout the week and explore networking opportunities.
